Tooth Transplantation is a procedure that involves replacing a damaged or compromised tooth with an unerupted tooth. The Maxillofacial surgeon removes the diseased/damaged tooth and prepares the socket for the transplant procedure using a 3D printed tooth. A suitable donor tooth is then extracted carefully with minimal damage to the surrounding tissue. The donor tooth is placed in the prepared recipient socket and kept in place using a suture splint.

This can be an alternative to dental implants or more complicated orthodontic treatment, in certain cases.
